How do the undies work?
Our period undies rely on a combination of specialised layers built to absorb, wick moisture away and guard against leaks. Here is how these 4 layers of leak-proof protection work together.
1. Absorbent Layer (Closest to Skin)
- Function: This layer soaks up menstrual fluid fast, keeping you dry and comfortable. It draws moisture off your skin so no dampness is left behind to cause irritation.
- Materials: Made from a mix of cotton, bamboo and other moisture-wicking fabrics, this layer keeps you feeling fresh all day long.
2. Moisture-Wicking Layer
- Function: This layer carries any moisture picked up by the first layer away from your body and into the next one, so your skin stays dry and comfortable. Keeping that dryness also helps stop leaks.
3. Absorbent Core Layer
- Function: This thicker absorbent core is the key layer against leaks. It holds a large amount of menstrual fluid — often the equivalent of 2-3 tampons — and handles moderate to heavy flows without leaking through.
4. Leak-Proof, Waterproof Barrier Layer
- Function: The outermost layer works as a barrier that stops absorbed fluid from reaching your clothes. This waterproof layer keeps you leak-free while you move, sit or sleep.
How It All Works Together:
Together these 4 layers — absorbent, moisture-wicking, absorbent core and waterproof barrier — keep our period undies dry, protective and comfortable for your whole period. Wear them on their own or as backup to other menstrual products such as tampons or cups for extra security on heavier days.
Thanks to the leak-proof construction, you can wear period underwear with confidence, well protected day and night, even while walking, sitting or exercising.
How often do I change my undies?
When to change your period underwear depends on a few things: your flow, how absorbent the pair is, and your own comfort. These general guidelines help you decide when it is time:
1. Flow Level
- Light Flow: With a lighter flow you can often wear a pair for up to 8 hours before changing, depending on the absorbency rating of the product.
- Moderate Flow: On a moderate flow, change roughly every 6-8 hours, especially if you notice any dampness or discomfort.
- Heavy Flow: On heavy days it is best to change every 4-6 hours to avoid leaks. You may need to swap more often depending on how much has been absorbed.
2. Signs of Full Absorbency
- Feeling Damp or Wet: If you start to feel moisture or dampness through the fabric, the pair has reached its capacity and it is time to change.
- Discomfort: If the underwear begins to feel uncomfortable or the fabric clings to your skin, change for the sake of comfort and hygiene.
3. Personal Comfort
- If you start feeling less confident or comfortable, change them even if the absorbency limit has not been reached. Comfort is what keeps you secure and confident during your period.
4. Activity Level
- If you are very active — exercising, swimming or moving around a lot — you may need to change more often. All that movement shifts absorption levels, and a fresh pair keeps you sure there are no leaks.
5. End of Day / Overnight Use
- Wearing them overnight, you will likely want to change after 8-12 hours depending on your flow. On a very heavy flow, consider pairing them with a menstrual cup or tampon for extra protection.
Above all, listen to your body and change whenever you start feeling uncomfortable, to keep both confidence and hygiene.
How do I wash my undies?
Wash your undies regularly, and always rinse them before they go into the machine.
For the most hygienic result, we recommend these washing steps:
1. Pre-rinse in cold water
2. Wash at temperatures below 30°
3. Be sure to stretch them out for the comfiest fit.
4. Hang dry

Can these last me all day at work/school?
Yes, period underwear can last the entire work or school day, though it comes down to your flow, the absorbency of the pair and your personal comfort.
For lighter to moderate flow, period underwear comfortably covers a full work or school day.
For heavy flow, you may need a backup product or one change during the day
Do all undies have the same absorbency?
They do not! We know no two menstrual experiences are the same, so each pair of our undies is designed for a different level of flow.

Is AuntFlo free from PFAs?
Our period undies are PFA free. PFAs are absolutely never part of our product design.
Are you stocked in stores?
Nope, it is just us! Our underwear is available only through our own online store (for now).
Where are they made?
Ours is an independently operated business. Producing period undies takes machinery and specialised technical skills that live in global garment manufacturing hubs, so we partner with two excellent manufacturing partners in China to make our garments.
Shipping Information
How does delivery work?
Delivery usually takes 5-15 days, depending on where you are located.
After an order comes in, our team picks and packs your item(s) with care, so please allow between 24 and 72 hours for the order to be prepared.
Orders are not dispatched on weekends or public holidays.
As soon as your order leaves us, you receive an email containing a tracking number. If nothing has arrived after 15 days, please email us immediately and we will chase it up with the courier.
Once the parcel is handed over to the courier, it is in the hands of a different provider. We know delays are frustrating, but from that point any issue has to be investigated by the courier. We can contact them on your behalf and will always do our best to sort things out for you as fast as possible.
Please note that items may ship from more than one location (including one of our international warehouses), depending on stock. We do this so your full order reaches you as quickly as possible.

How do I track my order?
Time to celebrate - your undies are on the way! Once your order is handed to the courier for processing, we send a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number inside, so you can follow the parcel all the way from our HQ to your door.
Still waiting on that confirmation email? Have a look in your spam folder as well, it may have landed there.
What if I order the wrong size?
Uh oh, the wrong size ended up in your cart...
Because our products are classified as sanitary items, we are unfortunately not able to swap them over for you, so the pair stays with you.
Returned sanitary products cannot be resold, even when they are unused, unworn and unwashed. That rule exists to uphold strict hygiene, health and safety standards that protect both our customers and our warehouse team. We are here for the planet, and for your health too.
That said, if this is your first order with us, we can gift you one pair of underwear in the correct size when the wrong size was picked by mistake. Just email our support team and we will take it from there.
Please note: change-of-mind and sizing refunds are not covered under consumer guarantee regulations.
Can I update my address?
Oops, are your undies heading to the wrong address? We will absolutely do our best to update it, as long as you tell us as soon as you can. The sooner we hear from you, the better the chance we can still change it.
*Please note: we can only ship to the address entered on the order - if the address is incorrect and the parcel is delivered there, we are unable to recover it, so please double-check your details carefully.

Can my undies be rebated?
Yes! Across Australia, period underwear - together with other reusable menstrual products such as cups and reusable pads - can be rebated by a number of local councils. Plenty of councils run rebates, commonly 50% of what you paid, capped at an amount such as $50.
Check with your own local council to find out whether you qualify.

What is the return policy?
Our items are classified as sanitary products, so we apply a strict “No Return Policy”.
Sanitary products that come back to us cannot be resold, even when they are described as unused, unworn and unwashed. We keep this rule to uphold strict hygiene, health and safety standards that protect both our customers and our warehouse team. We are here for the planet, and just as much for your health.
Please note: refunds for change of mind or for sizing are not covered by consumer-law guarantees.
30 Day Risk-Free Trial
Under our 30 Day Risk-Free Trial, first-time customers may try one garment from their first order with no risk. If you are not happy with how it performs, we will gladly refund the cost of that single item (shipping costs excluded).
After that, you may:
- Keep the remaining items
- Donate the unworn pair(s) to charity
- Gift them to your bestie
There is no need to send back the 1 (one) product you are claiming.
We suggest that first-time customers order single pairs or small packs before placing a larger order.
If you buy bundles or multi-packs, try one pair first. If it does not work for you, we will issue a partial refund equal to the cost of 1 (one) pair, and you can keep the remaining pairs with no hygiene concerns.
Shipping costs are NOT eligible for credit or refund under the 30 Day Risk-Free Trial for change of mind — only for products with major faults or defects.

How long does a refund take to process?
When a refund is issued for your order, you will get an email from us confirming it has been processed on our side. From there it takes 2-5 business days to land in your account, depending on your bank. If it takes longer than that, we recommend contacting your bank or card provider directly.
Are any purchases final sale?
Items marked Final Sale cannot be returned for a refund, an exchange or store credit.
