Sanitary products that come back to us can't be sold again, even when they're described as unused, unworn and unwashed. That depends on how heavy your flow is and which absorbency level you picked. Our period undies can be worn by themselves, or alongside extra protection if you prefer.

Yes — there are no PFAs in our period undies. PFAs simply have no place in the way we design AuntFlo products.

The right moment to change your period underwear comes down to a handful of things: your flow, the absorbency you're wearing and how comfortable you feel. These pointers should help you decide:

1. Flow Level

• Light Flow: With a lighter flow you can often go up to 8 hours before changing, depending on the absorbency rating of the pair you're wearing.
• Moderate Flow: A moderate flow usually calls for a change roughly every 6-8 hours, and sooner if you notice any dampness or discomfort.
• Heavy Flow: On your heaviest days, changing every 4-6 hours is the safest way to avoid leaks. Depending on how much is being absorbed, you may want to change sooner.

2. Signs of Full Absorbency

• Feeling Damp or Wet: Noticing moisture coming through means the fabric has taken on as much as it can hold, and it's time for a fresh pair.
• Discomfort: If the pair starts to feel uncomfortable, or you can feel the fabric clinging to your skin, swap them out to stay comfortable and hygienic.

3. Personal Comfort

• Even well before the absorbency limit, change them whenever you stop feeling confident or at ease. Comfort is what keeps you feeling secure throughout your period.

4. Activity Level

• Busy days — exercising, swimming or simply being on the move — can mean changing more often. All that movement shifts how absorption behaves, so a fresh pair keeps leaks off your mind.

5. End of Day / Overnight Use

• Worn overnight, most people change after 8-12 hours, depending on their flow. If your flow is very heavy, pairing them with a cup or tampon adds extra peace of mind.
